Ezilo: evaluating a parking session from entry to payment

An illustrative Ezilo evaluation for parking operators, covering vehicle events, site rules, permits, payment records and the evidence behind a session.

Illustrative evaluation. This fictional parking scenario describes proposed demonstration checks. It is not a customer deployment or a report of measured performance.

A parking operator manages a mixed-use site with permit holders and occasional visitors. Staff need to explain why a session received a particular charge and find the records behind an exception. The operator wants to evaluate Ezilo, which is available now for customer demonstrations.

Define the site policy

The operator supplies a sample tariff, permit rules and a fictional vehicle list. It identifies the ANPR event format and the payment workflow to be demonstrated. Staff roles are also defined, including who may change a policy and who only needs to review a session.

These inputs make the evaluation specific. The platform should be judged against the agreed rules for this example rather than a generic description of parking management.

Follow three representative sessions

The first example is a vehicle with a valid permit. The second is an ordinary paid visit. The third contains an event or entitlement issue that requires staff review. The demonstration follows each event into the parking session and inspects the policy, charge and available payment record.

Staff then check the evidence used to explain each outcome. Can they identify the source event and the applicable site rule? Where a violation event or evidence pack is produced, is its content clear enough for the operator’s authorised review process? These are proposed acceptance checks, not advance claims of a result.

Inspect access and the handover

A second user reviews the sessions using the role intended for a site colleague. The operator checks the records that person can inspect and the actions they can take. Where separate operator environments are in scope, the evaluation should also test the agreed data boundaries.

The colleague then investigates the exception without help from the person who ran the original sequence. Their ability to follow the record is part of the assessment, alongside the accuracy of the session and charge information.

Make the commercial decision from the evidence

The operator records the functions demonstrated, remaining manual steps and any required camera, payment or external-system integration. A pilot would measure administrative effort and exceptions against the existing process. No saving is assumed before that work is measured.
